“Unsettled” is a floor and wall painting installation developed by mural artists Doug Woods and Aissulu Kadyrzhanova in collaboration with four performance artists: Asimina Chremos, Shizu Homma, Jungwoong Kim, and the collective Body Dreamz.

“Unsettled” is an endeavor to an understanding of “nomadism”- a transient culture without fixed habitation. A concept of nomadism appears in Gilles Deleuze, a French philosopher, and Felix Guattari, a French psychoanalyst and political activist, in their conjoint work “ Capitalism and Schizophrenia”. The book focuses on the nomadic nature of knowledge and identity as a strategy for survival under the capitalism. The space of the nomad, the desert and the steppe, is free from the forces of institutionalizations, and in a way, is a metaphorical allusion to types of occupation, which resist political restrictions the state places upon us.
